Information is a key ingredient of every successful photograph.  But when a photograph says too much its meaning and effectiveness is in danger of being lost.   There are times when less is definitely more.

For instance, a photograph with large areas devoid of detail, where light can play, will encourage the viewer to bring something to the photograph.

Unsettled atmospheric conditions such as fog, heavy snowfall, approaching storms are ideal for helping bring a viewers moods to the surface.
